Marilyn Monroe, Che Guevara, cherries, antlers, the American flag...

Last night, while I was waiting for my roomate to finish an assignment, I went onto facebook and wrote a note. I started writing, and I started thinking about my life right now, and this is what came out. It was weird, I didn't stop from the first word to the last, probably because I wasn't thinking much... oh well, here it is.

I have so many things on my mind right now,
What's the difference between a mouse and a cow?
Is it right, or is it wrong?
Is there too much sentiment in that song?
People enjoy passion, it's the best
Except, it seems, when it's put to the test
The things I like, the things I do
Am I exactly the same as you?
Because they're engaged, and he's on 12
Should I think differently, or do I delve
To much on, things in life?
Sometime her words still cut like a knife
I open up too soon it seems,
Looking forward to rainbows, shrouded in bright sunbeams
But morning arrives and winter stays
I'm still pretty cold, even in the warm rays
The warmth keeps getting further away
What's that? Oh we cannot stay
Guess we'll be okay someday
And in my days of gloom and drought
My friends stay close, all throughtout
For them, a bullet?
I wouldn't think twice
Now I begin to think back to those mice
And the passion that surrounds
Caught up inside her, confusion abounds
And the walls build up, then fall again
I hope this trail of rubble leads to an end
But if it doesn't
I'll know from the start
That I did my best, followed my heart
And although it's been broken, battered and bruised
The lingering feeling of feeling used
The ache in the cavity each time I breathe,
I know that my friends will never leave
I still have them, my family, my God
And I know that this will be difficult and hard
Well aware of all my faults
Still reluctant to open any vaults
I know I'll get through
I'll try and stay strong
I'll keep my convictions
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong
But like mice and passion
I'll decide
I'm stoked you've been with me on this ride.

Hope you liked it.

Hi you, here's a Haiku

In Copywriting, for one of our earlier assignments, we were given a brief in which we had to come up with 3 Haiku's, each one dealing with a different theme. For those of you who don't know what a Haiku is, the traditional defintion is a 17 syllable, Japanese poem, and they were usually about nature. It would usually consist of 3 lines, with 5 syllables in the first and last line, and 7 in the middle. There is a whole lot more stuff about it, but here are the final 3 that I handed in.
  • Nature:

A stone is tossed in
Ripples dance around the pond,

Happiness is here

  • Religious:

Alone in darkness,
The Hand of Love comforts me

Shelter is at hand

  • Tools/appliances:

Only to be held

Wooden masterpiece
